Accessibility Statement

Cole & Cole Law, P.A. is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who are blind or have low vision, people who use screen readers or screen magnification, people who navigate by keyboard only, and people with hearing, motor or cognitive disabilities. Access to legal information should not depend on how you use a computer.

The standard we work to

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, as our benchmark. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most commonly referenced under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

What we have done

In July 2026 we completed a full review of this website against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The review combined automated testing with manual keyboard-only navigation, inspection of the underlying page code, and colour-contrast measurement. Work completed as a result of that review includes the following.

• Every image now carries alternative text, or is marked as decorative so that screen readers correctly skip it.
• Each page has a unique, descriptive page title and a single main heading, and headings now follow a logical order that screen reader users can navigate.
• A “Skip to main content” link appears at the start of every page for keyboard users.
• A clearly visible focus indicator shows keyboard users where they are on the page at all times.
• The navigation menus, including the drop-down sub-menus and the mobile menu button, can be opened and used with the keyboard alone.
• Link text describes where the link goes, so links still make sense when read out of context.
• Text and interface colours were measured and adjusted to meet the minimum contrast ratios.
• Page regions are identified with landmarks, and the practice-area tabs carry the correct accessible roles and labels.
• The site remains usable when text spacing is increased and when the page is magnified.
• Every field on our contact forms now has a label you can see as well as a label a screen reader can read, and required fields are marked both visually and in the page code.
• If a form is sent with something missing or mistyped, a summary of the problems appears at the top of the form, keyboard focus moves straight to it, each problem links to the field it refers to, and a plain-language message is attached to that field in code so screen readers announce it.
• Every page can be used at a window width of 320 pixels, roughly a phone held upright, without side-to-side scrolling.
• Every page can be used with text enlarged to 200 per cent without text overlapping, being cut off or disappearing.
• A duplicated page header that could confuse screen reader and keyboard users has been corrected.

Ongoing measures

Accessibility is a continuing obligation rather than a one-time project. We include accessibility in our review of new pages and documents before they are published, we re-test the site when its design or software is updated, and we treat any accessibility problem reported to us as a priority fix.

Known limitations

We believe this website now substantially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We want to be straightforward about the areas where we cannot guarantee conformance.

• Third-party content. Our contact form, the spam-prevention challenge attached to it, and the map and directions link rely on services operated by other companies. We do not control their code, and the spam-prevention challenge in particular does not enlarge along with the rest of the page and may be difficult or impossible for some visitors to complete. If any of these prevents you from reaching us, please telephone the office on (941) 365-4055 and we will take your information directly. An enquiry made by telephone is treated exactly the same as one sent through the form.
• Downloadable documents. This website does not currently publish any PDF or other downloadable files. If we add documents in future they will be produced in an accessible, tagged format, and we will supply any document in an alternative format on request.
• Assistive technology combinations. We test with common screen readers and browsers, but we cannot test every possible combination of software and settings.

We aim to acknowledge every accessibility enquiry within three business days and to tell you at that point how and when we expect to resolve the issue. There is no charge for providing information in an alternative format, and you will never be asked to explain why you need it.

Formal approach and date

This statement was prepared on 29 July 2026 and was last reviewed and updated on 30 July 2026, following a self-evaluation of this website. The July 2026 testing included manual keyboard-only navigation, screen reader inspection of the page code, colour-contrast measurement, form error-handling tests, use of the site at a window width of 320 pixels, and use of the site with text enlarged to 200 per cent. It applies to colecolelawpa.com and all of its pages. We review the statement at least once a year and after any significant change to the site.
