Effective date: 30 July 2026
This policy explains what information Cole & Cole Law, P.A. collects through colecolelawpa.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It applies only to this website. It does not change the separate duties of confidentiality and privilege that we owe to our clients.
Please do not send confidential details through this website
Messages sent through our contact form or by email are not protected by the attorney-client privilege, because no attorney-client relationship exists until we agree in writing to represent you. Please limit what you send us to your name, how to reach you, and a short description of the type of matter. We will arrange a confidential conversation from there. Do not send documents, account numbers, medical information or anything else sensitive until we have confirmed that we can represent you and have checked for conflicts of interest.
What we collect
Information you give us
Our contact form asks for your name, telephone number, email address and a message. We only ask for what we need in order to call you back. Messages sent through the form are delivered to us by email and are also stored on this website. If you telephone, write or email us instead, we keep the same kind of information.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our web server records technical information each time a page is requested: the IP address making the request, the date and time, the page requested, and the browser and operating system reported by your device. Our website software and its caching and security components also set cookies that keep the site working correctly.
Spam prevention
Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to tell human visitors from automated spam. Google collects device and usage signals in order to do this, and that collection is governed by Google’s own privacy policy and terms of service. If you would rather not use reCAPTCHA, please telephone the office at (941) 365-4055 instead.
How we use the information
We use what you send us to respond to your inquiry, to check for conflicts of interest before taking on a matter, and, if we are engaged, to provide legal services. We use the automatic technical information to keep the site secure and working, to diagnose faults, and to understand in general terms which pages people find useful.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We do not use it to build advertising profiles about you. We do not share it with anyone except as described below.
We may use standard website analytics to understand in general terms how visitors use the site, and we may advertise our services online. Neither of those involves selling your information or disclosing the contents of anything you send us.
Who else may see it
Information may be handled by the companies that provide our website hosting, email and form services, strictly in order to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, where a court orders it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
How long we keep it
Inquiries that do not become matters are retained for conflict-checking and record-keeping purposes. We review the records generated by this website periodically and remove those we no longer need. Client files are retained in line with our file-retention practices and the requirements of The Florida Bar.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection and we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please bear that in mind when deciding what to send us.
Your choices
You can browse this site without giving us any personal information. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies, though parts of the site may not then work as intended.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. There is no common industry standard for how those signals should be interpreted, and this website does not currently respond to them.
If you would like to know what information we hold about you, or would like it corrected or deleted, please contact us using the details below and we will respond promptly. Some information must be retained where the law, a court order, or our professional obligations as attorneys require it, and we will tell you if that applies.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another organization’s website, such as a map service or a court, that organization’s own privacy policy governs what it collects. We are not responsible for the practices of sites we do not operate.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the effective date at the top. Significant changes will be noted clearly.
